Current Projects

This section lists projects that have been reviewed and prioritized for development. These initiatives are currently in progress, addressing enhancements, integrations, and expansions that align with Bizcloud’s roadmap. For more detailed information on the status, milestones, and contributions, please visit our Git repository here.

Bizcloud Documentation

The Bizcloud Documentation project aims to create comprehensive, well-structured documentation that covers all aspects of the Bizcloud framework - from high-level conceptual overviews to detailed technical specifications. This ambitious undertaking will produce clear explanations of Bizcloud's object-focused approach, architectural principles, and practical implementation guidelines, making the framework more accessible to newcomers while serving as an authoritative reference for experienced practitioners.

The project is organized into distinct tracks, including introductory materials explaining Bizcloud's unique ontology-first paradigm, detailed explorations of core concepts like business objects and workspaces, hands-on tutorials for using tools like MONAKO and MONJO, and in-depth technical documentation covering topics such as control types, expressions, and API functionality. Contributors can focus on specific documentation tracks based on their expertise, working collaboratively to build a knowledge base that grows alongside the framework itself. This website is a product of the documentation effort.

This site serves as the definitive hub for Bizcloud documentation, providing an organized surface layer that links to progressively deeper levels of information. As the primary access point for all Bizcloud knowledge, it offers newcomers and experienced users alike a clear entry into the framework's extensive resources, guiding them through high-level overviews to increasingly detailed technical insights.

Morpheus Web Service (MWS) or "back-end"

The Next Version of Morpheus Web Service (MWS) project represents a significant evolution of Bizcloud's backend infrastructure, focused on enhancing scalability, flexibility, and integration capabilities. At its core, this initiative aims to decouple the framework from its current MariaDB dependency through a new database abstraction layer, enabling support for various database technologies. The project also encompasses "Big Datafication" - expanding Bizcloud's capabilities to handle enterprise-scale data operations through advanced data warehousing and external data asset integration. A key deliverable is comprehensive API documentation to facilitate custom extensions and integrations, particularly for UniUI jigs. The project includes exploration of modern data tools and frameworks, including Mage for data integration and Apache Iceberg for large-scale data management, positioning the Bizcloud framework to better serve enterprise-scale platform business models.

Bizcloud Exchange

The Bizcloud Exchange project aims to expand the framework's data sharing capabilities beyond individual domains, creating a secure and standardized network for cross-domain object exchanges. While Bizcloud already enables seamless object sharing between workspaces within the same domain, this project will establish the infrastructure and protocols necessary for workspaces in different domains to exchange both public and custom Monako Objects. The initiative includes the development of a tokenization system to facilitate these exchanges, laying the groundwork for a broader, interconnected ecosystem of Bizcloud installations. This enhancement will enable organizations to collaborate and share data assets across organizational boundaries while maintaining security and governance controls

Monako Composer & Browser

The Monako Enhancement project encompasses several key improvements to Bizcloud's core composition tools. The initiative will transform the Monako Composer's interface from its current basic form to a more intuitive, graphical environment - replacing JSON-based configuration with form-driven inputs, visualizing object relationships, and providing enhanced error detection. The project extends the Monako Browser to serve as a comprehensive framework API by including all application objects, not just data objects. A significant addition is the integration of AI-powered assistance through Prompt, which will help users compose and modify patterns more effectively. The project also includes developing tools and policies for managing and commercializing custom Monako Objects, enabling organizations to share and monetize their development work across the Bizcloud ecosystem.

Security Review

The Security Review project represents a comprehensive initiative to further strengthen the Bizcloud framework's security posture through a systematic evaluation and enhancement of security measures. This multi-faceted effort includes a thorough code base audit to identify potential vulnerabilities, implementation of additional security controls, introduction of at-rest data encryption, and enhanced email security protocols. The project reflects Bizcloud's commitment to maintaining robust security standards and proactively addressing evolving security challenges in enterprise environments. The outcomes will ensure that Bizcloud continues to meet the highest security requirements for platform business models.

Uni-UI

The UniUI Project represents a major modernization initiative for Bizcloud's universal user interface, transitioning from the legacy AngularJS framework to a contemporary technology stack based on React, with integration of Figma and Material Design 3 for enhanced styling capabilities. A key focus is enabling greater customization through the development of an SDK that will allow developers to create custom jigs - specialized UI components that can interact with the Morpheus Web Service to perform complex functions. The project also includes expanding the available UI component set and presentation options, providing organizations with more flexibility in tailoring their interface experiences. These enhancements will ensure the UniUI continues to deliver modern, adaptable, and user-friendly interfaces for platform business models.

Showcase

The DataEngineering.io Showcase project demonstrates the full capabilities of the Bizcloud framework through the creation of a comprehensive platform business model for the data engineering community. This ambitious implementation utilizes the Professional Services Blueprint to create a sophisticated ecosystem that connects data engineers, employers, tool vendors, and content creators. The platform features AI-driven content aggregation and personalization, professional development pathways, a service marketplace, and community-driven knowledge sharing. Key components include an intelligent news feed that aggregates industry content, certification programs, communities and groups, job matching services, and vendor showcases.

This showcase not only serves as a powerful demonstration of Bizcloud's platform-building capabilities but also aims to establish itself as the definitive global hub for data engineering excellence, illustrating how the framework can be used to create complex, multi-sided platform business models with diverse revenue streams.
